For dentists: a whitening line in your practice, from assessment to upkeep

Patients come in for whitening at predictable moments: before a wedding or an event, ahead of photos, at the end of orthodontic treatment. A whitening line that works in a practice is a pathway, not a one-off: an assessment, an in-clinic session, strips to continue at home, and upkeep visits. OBIOWHITE supplies every step of that pathway from one source, and the brand’s position is clear: OBIOWHITE whitening is free of pain and sensitivity.

The moments when patients ask about whitening

Most whitening requests don’t come out of nowhere. They come around a moment the patient can already see coming. Knowing those moments makes it easier to bring whitening up at the right time and in the right tone:

  • A date on the calendar: a wedding, a bar or bat mitzvah, a family celebration. Timing is part of the treatment here, so plan backward from the date.
  • Photos and video: headshots, video calls at work, social media. An even shade matters as much as a bright one.
  • The end of orthodontic treatment: the teeth are where they should be, and the patient wants to finish with the shade, too.
  • Before restorations in the smile zone: whiten first, then match the new work to the new shade.

Our knowledge center has articles you can send patients ahead of those moments, such as Whitening before a wedding, an event or a photo shoot and Your smile in photos and on video.

Each of those moments comes with an expectation. A short conversation about what whitening changes and what it doesn’t, including restorations that won’t change color, prevents disappointment and builds trust. A patient who knows what to expect is also a patient who comes back for upkeep.

A four-step pathway

A clear pathway helps patients and staff alike: everyone knows what comes next, and why.

  1. Assessment. An exam and cleaning; a look at existing sensitivity, decay, gum health and front restorations; and a frank talk about expectations. No promised number on a shade guide.
  2. In-clinic session. Prep with OBIOACTIVE, gum protection with OBIOGINGIVAL, then OBIOWHITE ULTRA gel with the OBIOWHITE LAMP. The manufacturer describes it as whitening in an hour.
  3. Continuation at home. OBIOWHITE STRIPS handed to the patient by your practice, with a short explanation. According to the manufacturer, a course is one treatment every other day for 7 treatments, 60 minutes each.
  4. Upkeep visits. At routine checkups, look at the shade together and decide whether and when to top up.

Decide up front who on the team does what: who raises the option at a checkup, who shows the patient how to use the strips, and how the patient is reminded to check the shade at the next visit. A pathway with an owner on the team simply happens. It’s also the pathway your patients read about on this site: In-clinic or at home explains why the two are combined, and Keeping your whitening result covers what comes after.

What the system includes, according to the manufacturer

Five products, each with a defined role. Figures are from the label and the manufacturer:

  • OBIOACTIVE, prep: a 3 g gel applied before whitening. According to the manufacturer, citric acid at a neutral pH to clean the tooth surface, plus potassium nitrate.
  • OBIOGINGIVAL, protection: a 1.2 g gingival barrier gel. According to the manufacturer, it flows into the sulcus and covers the papillae.
  • OBIOWHITE ULTRA, whitening: 27% hydrogen peroxide per the label (per the manufacturer, equivalent to 81% carbamide peroxide), 8 ml in a QuickMix syringe.
  • OBIOWHITE LAMP, light: blue and red LED with no heat, UV or IR, according to the manufacturer; preset programs, wireless control, an adjustable arm and patient headphones. It fits any treatment unit.
  • OBIOWHITE STRIPS, home: 6% hydrogen peroxide per the label, 28 strips for 14 treatments, for professional use, so they’re dispensed through your practice. According to the manufacturer, they save making a custom tray and take no chair time.

Patient comfort: a clear position, and what stands behind it

OBIOWHITE whitening is free of pain and sensitivity. That’s the brand’s position, and it rests on how the system is built: a prep step with potassium nitrate in OBIOACTIVE, a gingival barrier with OBIOGINGIVAL, a lamp that, according to the manufacturer, gives off no heat, UV or IR, and a dentist supervising every step. The headphones that come with the lamp let patients listen to music during the session.

Your pre-treatment checks stay as they are: existing sensitivity, decay and gum health are all part of the assessment. For anxious patients, you can share Whitening without pain or sensitivity, and for those wondering what they can drink afterward, Coffee, tea and wine after whitening.

An interested patient’s first question is usually “does it hurt?” When the whole team answers it in the same words and with the same confidence, the conversation moves on to planning faster.

How to get started

The quickest route is the inquiry form on our page for dentists. Tell us about your practice, and we’ll get back to you with product information, pricing and ordering options. Prefer to talk? Phone and WhatsApp are on our contact page.

The same page has a video of the in-clinic protocol, so you can see the system at work before we talk. And for patients interested in continuing at home, our at-home whitening page explains how the strips are used.

What to ask us

What are the prices and ordering options for a practice? How are the strips handed to patients, and what do we tell them? How does the lamp mount on our treatment unit? Which articles on the site can we send to patients? All of these are good questions for the inquiry form.
