Where it sits in the treatment

Step three, once the tooth and gums are ready

Before the gel goes on, your dentist cleans the tooth surface with OBIOACTIVE and protects the gum line with OBIOGINGIVAL. Once the gel is on the teeth, OBIOWHITE LAMP shines blue and red light on them.

At the end of the session, your dentist may give you OBIOWHITE STRIPS to continue at home. How the whole whitening session works →

For patients

For you, it is one appointment, not a complicated procedure

You sit in the dental chair while your dentist applies the gel to your teeth and positions the lamp. You can listen to music through the headphones that come with the lamp. A session like this usually takes about an hour, and your dentist will tell you in advance how long to plan for.

OBIOWHITE whitening is free of pain and sensitivity. That is why the system is built around the gel: a preparation step with potassium nitrate, a barrier on the gums, and a lamp that, according to the manufacturer, gives off no heat, all under your dentist’s supervision.

Worth knowing: the gel works on natural teeth. Crowns, veneers and fillings keep their color, and your dentist will explain beforehand what that means for your result. For the first 24 to 48 hours it is common to avoid strongly colored food and drink, and smoking; your dentist will give you the details.
